Anyone on here a member? I really appreciate the concept of Freecycle and am thrilled when my "trash" finds a good home as another person's "treasure."

Do you Freecycle?

ooooh yeah!!!!

My hubby thinks I'm crazy!!

I either throw it on freecycle or send it to the local mission!

I even have a few "finds"....lol
I have an old couch (looks like an antique) hanging out in the basement...needs to be cleaned badly....hubby makes a comment on everytime he goes down, like...'It's a good thing we went and got that' :)
I have an old stationary bike in the living room...that i should be riding right now...lol

I use it now! I LOVE IT. I've given away a lot of things on there, and gotten a lot too. I even once got some live aquarium plants that were absolutely beautiful and in perfect health. One thing I wish I had done though, was make a seperate mail account for it. It loads up my inbox so quickly because I have my preferences set to send me notification on each posting (I do this because stuff goes so fast on there, you have to be the first one to see it and jump on it if you want it). ANNOYING! :P

Love to freecycle! It's nice to find a new home to things that are just sitting around that you don't use anymore....but are way too nice to just throw away!
It's nice to offer these items to someone who wants them and appreciates them!!!
Wonderful concept! Reduce, Reuse, Freecycle!!!!! =)

I gave away a leaky ol' aluminum fishing boat on Freecycle.

It was old and leaky but we had a blast in it. :) Its new family lives down by a nice peaceful cove.

This boat even came with its own published newspaper column lol!

On the other side I've received some wonderful things. I just love Freecycle!

A great way to reuse and recycle. I had one bad experience with freecycle. A lady had some bird cages she was giving away and she and I emailed and made arrangements on my husbands day off to get them. Well she lived 70 miles away and stated she would leave the cages by her mail box because if you came in her driveway her dog would bite me so we went to get these bird cages and it is pouring rain. We find the house and there are no bird cages by the mail box so we look around and sure enough there is this big pit bull growling at us so I didnt get out of the car. Dialed her number and no answer so we drove home with my husband fuming he was so made. I contacted her after and she tells me I am stupid, that I should have gone to her door and asked for the cages because it was raining and she did not want to leave them there. I reminded her that she had a big mean looking dog growling at us that she had warned me to not come into her yard and she still continued to be abusive about how stupid I was to drive that far and not knock on her door. Seems you just have to be careful so now I meet the party somewhere halfway that way we are both putting in the same effort. I have rehomed pets, given away furniture, food, etc. for over two years on freecycle. But as always be careful.

Do you have to giveth to receiveth (lol)?

I don't mind giving but I really have nothing of value to give.

On the other hand I need so much.

Then again, I guess I could give any clothing that does fit, or I dunno, I could find something, even from a donation center that gives free stuff out. I could give that stuff away to get something I suppose...

I have a 42 inch TV that is around 5 years old and a couple of months ago it stopped working...it turns on and the signal light is there, but there is no picture. I had planned on selling the TV before this happened, because I wanted to get rid of it...do you think that I could get rid of this through Freecycle? I imagine that it wouldn't take too much to actually fix the TV, but I just don't want it anymore (it's more of a 'manly' TV). I've never used Freecycle before and just wondered if this was something that I could post on there. Thanks.

We did the same with an older tv we had. Some kids took it for their first apt so it was nice to help them out.

I love freecycle. I found it about 5 months ago and got a saxaphone for my 12 year old, a almost brand new hide-a-bed couch, a microwave , and some baby things for my neice that will be here any day now. I just wish i had found it alot sooner!
