Cherry Nut Squares
1 pkg. white cake mix
1 1/4 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
21 oz. can cherry pie filling
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13" baking pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, 6 Tbsp. butter and 1 cup of rolled oats. Mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup crumbs for the top. Add to the remaining crumbs, 1 egg, mix until well blended. Press into prepared pan. Pour cherry pie filling over the crumb mixture, spread to cover. To the reserved crumbs, in a large bowl, add remaining 1/4 c. rolled oats, 2 Tbsp. butter, nuts and brown sugar. Beat until thoroughly mixed. Sprinkle over cherry filling. Bake 30-45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
